Systems Engineer

Overview

We're seeking a Systems Engineer to join our client's team supporting the delivery of advanced communications capability within a Defence environment. This role will suit someone with a strong background in electronics and communications systems, with experience working across the systems engineering lifecycle in complex technical programs.

Highlights

• Contract length: 6 Months, likely to extend
• Location: VIC, onsite requirement
• NV1 clearance required

Key Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering methodology across requirements, design, integration, verification, and validation activities
• Support development and integration of complex communications and electronic systems
• Work across Linux-based environments and IP networking architectures
• Contribute to system design, documentation, and technical reporting
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, Defence stakeholders, and external partners
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, and performance analysis

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years\' experience in a Systems Engineering role
• Bachelor\'s degree in Systems, Electronics, Communications, Networks, or related engineering discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with Linux operating systems and IP networking
• Eligible to obtain Australian Defence security clearance and comply with ITAR requirements

Desirable Experience

• Defence industry experience applying systems engineering processes across the lifecycle
• Current NV1 Security Clearance
• Experience with Voice over IP, radio, or telephony communications systems
