Salary : Level 2 / 3, $34.87 - $39.37 per hour (EA (Gov) GA 2025)

Applicant Eligibility : Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. Must obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting.

The Role

We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. The role will support teaching staff in delivering planned education programmes, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and assisting students’ general health and well‑being.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering education, therapy and support programmes.
• Provide feedback on education and therapy programmes and participate in the evaluation of student progress.
• Support students’ general health and wellbeing, including engagement with children exhibiting challenging behaviours.
• Follow safe work practices and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and the school community to support student achievement and accessing the curriculum.
