Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Financial Manager to join our team at Boulia Regional Council. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our operations, supporting the delivery of services to our community.
Responsibilities :
- Financial Strategy : Develop and implement financial strategies to support the Council’s objectives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Budget Management : Oversee the preparation, management, and review of the annual budget, including forecasting, monitoring expenditures, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and present clear, accurate, and timely financial reports to the Council, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Audit and Compliance : Ensure compliance with local government financial regulations, manage internal and external audits, and respond to audit outcomes.
- Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of performance and professionalism.
- Asset Management : Oversee the financial aspects of asset management, including depreciation schedules and capital expenditure planning.
- Risk Management : Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring robust financial control systems are in place.
- Revenue Management : Optimize revenue collection strategies and manage grants and funding applications.
Qualifications :
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.CPA or CA qualification preferred.Demonstrated experience in a senior financial management role, in local government or a similar public sector environment.Strong understanding of local government financial legislation and practices.Proven leadership capabilities with experience in managing teams.What We Offer :
