About the opportunity

Mercy Health O’Connell Family Centre is an early parenting centre located in Canterbury that focuses on the needs of vulnerable families and young children. Our programs provide child-focused parenting skills to promote safe child development. Services include residential, day stay, educational and group programs for families with children aged 0-4 years.

Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist position based in Canterbury

32 - 40 hours per fortnight, fixed-term part-time, (Tuesday to Thursday) maternity leave cover

Liaise with O'Connell Family Centre Psychiatrist and clinical staff

Promote excellence in clinical practice and family-centred care

Provide monthly clinical supervision for staff

Provide supervision to registrars or students

Be able to commence employment as soon as possible.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have :

Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or working towards endorsement

A minimum of five years of professional experience as a fully registered Psychologist

Ability to engage with complex families with young children (0 - 4 years) who present with a range of biopsychosocial issues

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the O'Connell Family Centre team

As a senior Clinical Psychologist, assess the psychological needs of families attending O'Connell Family Centre, provide brief interventions, liaise with referral sources and clients to ensure appropriate ongoing care as required

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining :

A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
