The Client:
A community focused statutory business, seeking a PMO Lead, to join their digital team in a newly designed role. Reporting into the Manager of Enterprise Change and PMO, you will be assisting all aspects of the Digital PMO.
The Role:
As the PMO Lead you will be, among other things working, collaboratively across the business to support the Digital Directorate and other project-based teams in designing and delivering digital solutions in line with the Digital Masterplan. Lead the rollout of best practice templates and ways of working to assist in a digital capability uplift for the organisation, and implementation of program governance practices across the portfolio of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide portfolio status updates on schedule, resourcing and budgets based on information maintained by the PMs; assist with portfolio level risk and issue co-ordination; assist with the lessons learnt register and the preparation and coordination of project portfolio analysis and reporting.
- Maintain and enhance PMO365 Portfolio Project Management (PPM) tool, overseeing the administration and maintenance of the tool to specifically support digital program delivery, and the roll up to the EPMO.
- Continue to utilise technology to enhance Digital capability - workflow, pipeline reporting, long term financial plan.
- Ensure BAU Projects and other Strategic Projects primarily for the Digital directorate and supporting programs and projects are integrated into the PMO tool for full oversight of the change impact to the business.
- Provide analytical support for the PMO's activities, encompassing project planning, program governance, project management and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist and guide the Digital directorate with defining and updating the project management processes, standards and governance; assisting in strategic planning and budgeting processes, lessons learnt and process mapping with a strategic view of driving process efficiencies.
- Provide support to the digital directorate leadership team to establish an operating rhythm that embeds the new core competencies as defined by the digital masterplan as it evolves.
- Provide project financial information that is consistent, accurate and communicated to decisions to be made - manage, monitor, review and analyse as appropriate with reference to FIC Reporting and annual planning budget processes.
- Work collaboratively with peers focusing on supporting the organisation to implement nominated projects in a safe and strategic manner that's positively influences the stakeholder experience.
- Contribute to formal written report compilation, inclusive of project canvases, budget bids, business cases, memos and Trust reporting as required.
- Ensuring governance and discipline in accordance with the organisational framework for project selection, initiation, etc. In turn, ensuring effective alignment with EPMO processes and templates.
- Lead correspondence for the newly established governance processes and rhythms as they are established.
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- Significant digital Project Management delivery experience.
- Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) in a medium sized or large organisation.
- Experience with project management systems, tools and processes and their use in a PMO.
- Experience generating project management artifacts to enhance a PMO.
- Proven ability to contribute towards the development and implementation of PMO programs and initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, interpersonal skills, including negotiating and report writing.
- Possess cultural and political awareness and sensitivity to deliver change across the organisation.
- Possess sound business acumen combined with problem solving, facilitation skills.
- Ability to perform in a changing environment, operating with a high level of autonomy while maintaining support from key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of portfolio, program and project management.
- High level interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work co-operatively and promote a positive team approach.
- A high level of ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organisation to facilitate resource prioritisation challenges and project issue resolution processes.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be a self-starter and work autonomously in a dynamic workplace environment.
- Knowledge of Waterfall, Iterative and Agile project delivery methodologies.
- PPM tools knowledge - preferably pmo365, Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs, Sound digital technology exposure and experience.
- Project Management certifications, desirable but not essential.
