What's the role?
We’re looking for a Head of Content (HoC) to join the Storyation team four days a week on a 12-month parental leave cover . This hands‑on senior role will lead client content delivery and provide team leadership for Storyation’s small, nimble, and experienced team.
As an ‘on the tools’ leader, you’ll be responsible for the overall quality and success of content delivery across the agency’s clients, while overseeing content operations and guiding a talented creative team.
The HoC owns client programs end‑to‑end — from developing editorial plans and flatplans, ideation, editing, commissioning and briefing writers, to working in InDesign — to deliver best‑in‑class, multi‑platform content. Working closely with the Partnerships Manager and Finance, you’ll balance quality, scope and profitability, ensuring work flows smoothly across a lean, collaborative team.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting new business opportunities, leading content ideation, shaping proposals, defining resourcing (in‑house vs freelance) and representing Storyation’s editorial thinking in pitches. Above all, you’ll foster a supportive, high‑standards environment where the team can do their best work — providing clear priorities, editorial guidance and stepping in on the tools when needed.
This position reports to the Managing Director, Medium Rare, and has two direct reports : the Digital Content Lead and Senior Editor / Writer.
