Personal Injury Paralegal

This well-established national boutique law firm prides itself on achieving the best outcomes for its clients. Specializing in multiple areas of law, the firm fosters a welcoming and supportive team environment for its staff. With offices across the country, they are expanding their Sydney team and seeking a like-minded individual to join their Personal Injury department.

THE ROLE

• As a Paralegal your duties and responsibilities will include;
• Support solicitors in the day-to-day management of workers’ compensation files from initial instruction through to resolution
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including ILARS application for legal funding, instructions to medico-legal experts, letter of demands to insurers, statements of evidence, briefs to - Counsel and court documents
• Liaise with clients, union officials, medical practitioners, Independent Review Office, and insurers in a professional and empathetic manner
• Undertaking research when required
• Assist with preparing matters for the Personal Injury Commission
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate file notes and documentation using the firm’s practice management system
• Assist to coordinate medical assessments, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other key appointments
• Conduct file reviews and follow-up on outstanding information, reports, or instructions
• Prepare client correspondence and manage incoming communications
• Assist with compliance to statutory timeframes and procedural requirements under NSW workers’ compensation legislation
• Contribute to a client-first culture and uphold the rights and interests of union members
