Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time role located at our studio in Ultimo, Sydney. The Production and Studio Coordinator will co-operate closely with the designers, studio staff, contractors and suppliers to co-ordinate the product lifecycle from sampling through to delivery to our stockroom and wholesale partners. This is a dynamic and hands-on role which touches on every aspect of the business, offering enormous potential for the right applicant to make significant and meaningful contributions to the brand's success. The role will also provide support to the designers during events such as fashion week and made to order sales events, drawing on creative and technical expertise to bring the brand's fantastical ideas to life. We are a relaxed and friendly team working in a fun and creative space located conveniently close to Sydney CBD.

This role is ideal for applicants who have at least 3–5 years previous experience as a production assistant, production coordinator or product development / sampling coordinator who are ready to take the next step and move into a new position which will give them an exciting scope, and challenge themselves to take charge of product development, sampling and production of a growing brand.

Qualifications

  • At least 3–5 years previous experience at a designer level fashion brand in product development, production or a relevant related area.
  • Highly organised, with excellent time management skills and previous experience working with a fast paced critical path.
  • Previous experience working with both local and offshore suppliers, and a good working knowledge of the domestic fashion business.
  • Previous experience working with fashion logistics such as booking air and sea freight, working with freight forwarders
  • Well developed technical knowledge of womenswear garment construction, fabrics and textile techniques to support product development and production.
  • An understanding of specialty fabrics such as lace, satin, bias cutting, beading and sequins and placement and engineered printing.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively with a range of other trades such as pattern makers, machinists, cutters, printed and trim and textile suppliers to support product development and production.
  • Previous experience working in a hands-on womenswear role, such as event, evening or bridal wear will be highly regarded to support our growing made-to-order business and runway pieces.
  • Previous experience working with wholesale accounts such as department stores and high end boutiques will be highly regarded.
  • Competent in Excel / Google Sheets, AI and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the critical path to ensure sampling and production are on time without fail.
  • Oversee the design studio, keeping it well stocked and organised to support a smooth product development and local production workflow.
  • Work with both local and offshore suppliers and contractors to develop and manufacture our seasonal RTW and made to order ranges.
  • Provide insights from wholesale accounts, the online store and other sources to support the designers in range planning and product development.
  • Run fit sessions and communicate feedback to suppliers and contractors.
  • Source fabric and trims for local and offshore production.
  • Oversee dispatch of wholesale and online store orders.
  • Support the wholesale business by creating line sheets, costings and timelines for wholesale collections.
  • Perform QA and QC processes such as checking strikeoffs and lab dips, checking our proto, PP and shipping samples to ensure brand quality is maintained and the design vision is achieved.
  • Collaborate with the designers on seasonal e-commerce, social media content and ghost imagery shoots.
  • Support the designers with technical expertise on runway, made to order and bridal commissions from time to time as needed.
