Employment Type : Temporary full-time until January 2026

Remuneration : $36.38 - $51.08 per hour plus super and salary packaging

What You'll Be Doing

Scott Memorial Hospital has one Operating Theatre, one anaesthetic bay, two bed PACU bay & four recliner chairs in the Day Stay Unit. The successful candidate will work various rostered morning shifts within the week with a skilled & tightknit team to cover 12 theatre lists / month. The candidate will be working within instrument, circulating, anaesthetic and post-anaesthetic nursing roles for endoscopy, general surgery, minor orthopaedic surgery and gynaecology surgery. The unit also services an infusion unit once a month and a pre-operative / post-operative surgical wound clinic & pre-anaesthetic clinic once per month. Due to the unpredictable rostering schedule, this role also requires the successful candidate to orientate and will be rostered shifts in the medical ward and to assist in the Emergency department when required.

Who You Are

Our successful candidate will be energetic, motivated and results driven. As an experienced Theatre Nurse, you will have excellent clinical skills such as instrument, circulating, anaesthetic and / or PACU nursing roles. Endoscope reprocessing certification or willingness to undertake would be preferred. You will be provided extensive orientation by Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) of Scone Perioperative suite. With ongoing support from your NUM, Health Service Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator & Rural and Regional Clinical Nurse Consultant from the sector, you’ll be setup for success in your new position. Ongoing professional development is always encouraged and supported by your team.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
