Our Client, Total Generators is currently looking for Fitter (General) to join their team.

Position Overview :

The Fitter will be responsible for the fitting, servicing, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, including fixed speed diesel engines. The role requires strong diagnostic ability, precision in assembly and adjustment, and adherence to workplace health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Fit, assemble, and adjust mechanical parts and subassemblies to ensure machinery operates to required specifications.
• Service and maintain fixed speed engines (1500 rpm), including Perkins 1103 & 1104, Cummins QSL7–9, QSX15, Isuzu, Komatsu, and Scania DC13 models.
• Diagnose faults in machinery and equipment, carry out dismantling, repairs, replacement, and reassembly of defective components.
• Perform tune-ups and functional testing to ensure machinery and engines operate efficiently.
• Operate precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances and quality standards.
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records in line with company procedures.
• Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery while complying with all OHSE requirements.
• Contribute to team-based tasks while being able to work independently when required.
• Maintain good housekeeping of allocated vehicle, tools, and designated work areas.
