The Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time Fabricator Apprentice to join the team at SJB Fabrications in South Windsor .

SJB Fabrications is a boilermaking and fabrication company specialising in repairs for trucks, tankers, excavators, and other heavy equipment. They also manufacture bodies, trailers, and offer a range of general fabrication services.

This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working toward the completion of a  MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade , setting you on the path to becoming a fully qualified fabricator.

Job Details

This apprenticeship offers a comprehensive learning experience in all aspects of boilermaking and body building, guided by skilled tradespeople. Under supervision, you will develop hands-on expertise in sheet metal work, including cutting, folding and welding metals, while gaining valuable workshop experience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Performing MIG and TIG welding
  • Repairing truck bodies
  • Using thermal cutting and fabrication techniques to assemble, repair, and build metal and steel products

Hours :

  • Monday to Thursday : 7 : 00 am – 3 : 30 pm
  • Friday 7 : 00 am – 1 : 00 pm

    We are also looking for someone who meets the following requirements :

  • A valid driver’s licence
  • A Construction White Card
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Proven Work Experience or Relevant Trade Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to pass a Pre- Employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol Screening, and Police Check
