Business Development Manager

Overview of role

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing support from the Mortgage Broker channel. You will identify new broker opportunities, manage broker relationships and promote Household Capital’s broker proposition to the industry.

Role and Responsibilities

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the Australian financial services landscape.
• Building and maintaining client relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
• Developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, analyzing market trends, and customer needs.
• Promoting and presenting the company's financial products and services to potential clients.
• Negotiating and closing deals with clients, ensuring mutual benefits and alignment with company objectives.
• Conducting market research and analysis to stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify opportunities.
• Preparing and submitting sales proposals, reports, and forecasts to internal stakeholders when required.
• Representing the company at industry events, conferences and expanding the company's network.

Required skills

• Understanding of Australian financial services distribution landscape.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently across various internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and contribute to key decisions involving the senior leadership team.
• Regular travel to meet clients will be required, although this hybrid role provides flexibility with a mix of office-based work in Sydney, NSW and remote working opportunities.
• Proven track record of success in business development within the Australian financial services industry.
• Strong leadership skills with experience being part of a high-performing team.
• Strategic thinker with analytical abilities to identify trends and opportunities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
