Part Time 0.8 EFT) Fixed Term 12 months

81484 $106174 per annum pro rata depending on experience

plus employer Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contribution and generous Salary Packaging

About NARI

The National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) is an independent nonprofit medical research organisation recognised internationally as a centre of excellence in gerontology and geriatrics research. The Institute provides clinical psychosocial health services and public health research specifically focussed on older people and also has a major emphasis on translational research. Our vision is a world where older people are respected healthy and included. The Institute has four program areas Clinical Gerontology Social Gerontology Aged Care and the Melbourne Ageing Research Collaboration (MARC).

About the role

We are seeking a part time Research Officer / Fellow based within the Clinical Gerontology Division of the Institute. The Research Officer / Fellow will be responsible for project managing a multicentre cluster randomised trial that aims to establish the feasibility of an intervention to improve indwelling urinary catheter care in residential aged care homes.

To be successful for this role

The ideal candidates will possess a bachelor degree with honours or Masters in a relevant discipline and have relevant experience including :

  • Clinical trials expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and communicating the outcomes of research
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including commitment to ethical principles and research governance
  • Demonstrated high level of administrative and organisational skills
  • An ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment managing competing demands and demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to improving the lives of older people

Eligibility

Applications for this position are open to Australian / New Zealand Citizens Australian Permanent Residents or you must either hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa for the duration of the specified term.
