The Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Design Architect to join our Asset Design team. This position will conduct a range of activities in support of the Landscape Design Team while developing skills in Landscape design; drafting and documentation of Parks, Open Space, Sportfield upgrades and soft landscaping on roads and infrastructure assets including buildings as part of the Capital Works program.
- The role will be offered on a Permanent full-time basis
Duties
Become proficient in the use of the various landscape design software systems used by CouncilCarry out and / or assist with the investigation of site conditions in the preparation of design reportsUndertake the preparation of landscape design documentation for projectsUndertake and / or assist with the preparation of construction cost estimates for projectsComplete allocated tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with current standardsEnsure a high standard of work that requires minimum amendments in the fieldLiaise with the Council staff as required to meet position objectives, in particular, discuss project status, objectives, design options and prioritiesLiaise with residents, Utilities and other Government agencies as required and related to Council projectsFor a full list of duties, review the position descriptionYou will have
Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in technical support related to administering a contemporary Design OfficeClass C Drivers' LicenceExperience in the procurement of specialist consultantsMinimum 3 year's industry experience working at the level of landscape architectSkilled in areas of site analysis, conceptual design and design documentation of landscape architectural projects including : parks, open space, streetscapes, playgroundsExperienced in the application of current Australian standards and guidelines in relation to the delivery of the above project typesDemonstrated competency in the use of design, graphic and documentation software packages including Lumion (Landscape), Rhino (Landscape), Photoshop, Indesign and AutoCADProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in the preparation of stakeholder and other forms of team communicationWell-developed knowledge of construction cost estimating and extraction of quantities for landscape projectsKnowledge of tree and plant species suitable for use in the greater Sydney region including experience in the preparation of planting designs and plant schedules for landscape projectsSalary : The salary range for this opportunity starts at $104,465 (Grade H, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
