Job description

Disability Support Worker – Casual (South Morang)

  • Develop and maintain staff rosters, ensuring optimal coverage aligned with client needs
  • Handle rostering adjustments, including shift swaps, absence coverage, and last‑minute changes
  • Liaise with team leaders and support workers to coordinate staffing based on availability and client requirements
  • May be required to assist with intake phone calls and collaborate with the intake team to develop or adjust support plans, leveraging in‑depth knowledge of rosters.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, industry standards (NDIS), and employment regulations
  • Provide training to new staff on rostering systems, procedures, and expectations
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team for onboarding and the payroll team for accurate timesheet processing
  • Develop contingency plans for emergency roster changes and ensure continuity of services

Skills & Qualifications

  • Cert III or IV in Business Administration or relevant field (highly desirable)
  • Experience in administrative roles with a focus on rostering and scheduling (essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Proficiency in rostering software and IT systems, with a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of the disability sector and relevant regulations (NDIS) (essential)
  • Experience in customer service roles working with diverse populations (essential)

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support clients with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and meal preparation in their private residences.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy support, and social outings.
  • Monitor client health and report changes.
  • Provide companionship and encourage social engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and care provided.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain a safe environment for clients.

  • Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate IV or higher in Disability, Aged Care, or a related field (essential).
  • National Police Check (Issued Within the Last 90 Days)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.Working with Children Check.
  • Current and valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Manual Handling, Medication Administration and Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain).
