The Senior Policy Officer provides strategic and expert advice on alcohol and other drug policy to senior DASSA staff, including Directors and the State Director.
The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining expert knowledge in evidence-based alcohol and other drug population health and policy responses, as well as developing, implementing and evaluating major projects for DASSA. The role requires the incumbent to translate data and research into innovative, evidence based policy.
Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia (DASSA) is a state-wide health service aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and the South Australian community by reducing the harms associated with tobacco, alcohol and other drug use.
DASSA seeks to achieve this through the commissioning and delivery of effective clinical treatments and responses, as well as the development and implementation of legislation, whole of government strategy, policy, prevention / harm reduction programs and research.
