The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Lead, this pivotal position orchestrates the environment landscape for a high-impact, large-scale SAP SuccessFactors implementation. This role will encompass multiple delivery streams and seamlessly integrate platforms such as ServiceNow and Oracle. As the Environment Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and integration of these environments. You will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative environment management strategies, coordinating provisioning and maintenance activities, and expertly managing cloud platform upgrades and environment refreshes.
This is a dynamic and challenging role that demands strong risk management acumen to identify and mitigate environment-related risks while ensuring robust security protocols. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will promote best practices and maintain comprehensive documentation to support optimal performance and integration. This role is essential to the success of our digital transformation projects, ensuring that various platforms work harmoniously to deliver outstanding results.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate :
Ability to coordinate multiple delivery streams and manage interdependencies to ensure seamless integration between different platforms. Proven ability to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support efficient environment management.
Demonstrated expertise in monitoring environment performance and stability, identifying and resolving issues promptle to minimise downtime and disruption in a multi-platform complex environment. Extensive experience in implementing best practices for performance tuning, optimisation, and capacity planning to maintain high levels of system reliability and efficiency.
Stong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to environment management, ensuring that robust contingency plans are in place. In-depth knowledge of security protocols and experience in maintaining data protection and compliance with government regulations.
Proven commitment to promoting a culture of continuos improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance environment management processes and practices. Demonstrated experience in ensuring comprehensive documentation of environment management activities, configurations, and changes, and provision of regular reports and dashboards to track environment health, performance, and utilisation.
