We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Hervey Bay, on a casual basis; allowing the freedom to work around your schedule. You will be part of a small team of nurses who deliver best practice Radiation Oncology nursing services. Along with the multidisciplinary team, you will be part of giving our patients an exceptional treatment experience.

We are looking for a nurse who has a background in oncology, although this is not essential as we have a friendly knowledgeable team who can assist with training. The main element we are looking for is someone motivated to learn, who is flexible and reliable. You need to have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate empathy for our patients and their carers.

More Specifically, You Will

• Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient's physical and psychological needs are met.
• Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
• Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
• Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and feedback and up to date information regarding patients.
• Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
• Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
• Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
• Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
• Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.
