About the role :

The Volunteer Engagement Officer will promote volunteering and Uniting’s volunteer opportunities within the community and coordinate volunteer engagement across Home & Community Aged Care programs.

This will involve promotion and marketing, all aspects of volunteer recruitment, delivery of program induction, and successful connection of volunteers in metropolitan Melbourne and the Grampians region. This role will also support ongoing volunteer management responsibilities, ensuring volunteers are supported, developed and meet ongoing organisational compliance requirements. This role will ensure that volunteers are aware of the importance of the principles of wellness and reablement, consumer choice and consumer directed care when working with isolated people to support their engagement in wellness or social activities and remain living independently within their community.

This role is a Fixed Part Time Position and will see you work predominately across our South and East region but more broadly across Melbourne. Working from Burwood and / or Berwick sites is preferred, although other site locations will be considered for the right candidate.

About you :

This is the place for you if you have :

  • Experience working with volunteers and / or staff engagement
  • Ability to communicate using a range of mediums, targeted to a broad audience
  • Strength in planning, organisation and attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care sector, volunteer programs and the Aged Care Quality Standards an advantage
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare, Community Services, Human Resources or equivalent
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
