What does an Early Intervention Specialist do?
Kids First's Early Intervention Specialists (EIS) are like superheroes for children, educators and families. They swoop into preschools and primary school settings, and work hand-in-hand with kids in their natural classroom and playground settings. Their mission? To help these amazing kids meet their social communication and learning goals.
What's awesome about this role?
This is a role like no other. In fact, Kids First created this position because we saw that there is a huge gap in children's support networks that deserved to be filled. Our Early Intervention Specialists provide an invaluable link that connects families, educators, and incredible kids who need a little bit of extra help to enjoy success as they learn. They provide professional, practical support in a child's preschool or early primary school environment and work closely with teachers, carers, therapists and families to share strategies that work. Not only do Kids First Early Intervention Specialists empower children to thrive, but they equip and mentor fellow educators so that they create a powerful 'ripple effect' that has the potential for positive impacts during an educator's career.
