  • What you’ll be doing

    As the Carer Program Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and delivery of culturally safe support initiatives for mental health carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds across NSW. You’ll collaborate with carers, health services, and multicultural organisations to ensure inclusive, responsive, and high-quality care.

  • Coordinate the CALD Carer Support Group Program, including recruitment and development of Bilingual Group Leaders (BGLs)
  • Provide expert advice to health services and stakeholders on culturally safe and carer-inclusive practices
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate carer support initiatives aligned with health system priorities
  • Build strong partnerships to promote collaboration and shared service delivery
  • Contribute to policy, quality improvement, and strategic planning for CALD carer inclusion

    Essential Requirement

    Qualification : Health / Health Management Related Degree

    Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, health management, social sciences or equivalent work experience in a health or community setting
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, including recruitment, training, supervision and support of staff or volunteers.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with CALD communities, government and non-government agencies, to improve access and inclusion.
  • Strong advisory and negotiation skills with the ability to influence service delivery and policy to reflect carer-inclusive and culturally safe practices
  • Well-developed project management and evaluation skills with the capacity to deliver outcomes within set timeframes and budgets
  • Comprehensive understanding of cultural diversity, carer roles and the challenges faced by families supporting people with mental health concerns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, training materials and presentations for varied audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, exercising sound professional judgement
