Overview

The Royal Hospital for Women is a multi-faceted tertiary referral and teaching hospital offering women a wide range of comprehensive women\'s health services. It is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and co-located with other hospitals on the Randwick Hospitals Campus. The campus offers a comprehensive range of facilities and expertise in health care. The hospital provides opportunities for innovative clinical practice initiatives and is connected to a broad network of services in the region.

Where You\'ll Be Working

The Royal Hospital for Women has opportunities for Registered Nurses across the Newborn Care Division, Gynaecology Division and Maternity Division, including units such as the Close Observation Unit (COU), Newborn Care Centre, fertility and research services, breast services and perioperative units.

What You\'ll Be Doing

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of nursing care within a designated unit. You will work within the Policies and Procedures of the Department of Health, SESLHD, RHW and the Nursing and Midwifery Division to coordinate and deliver high quality nursing care. Clinical supervision at the point of care is the responsibility of each Registered Nurse, in line with relevant professional frameworks.

Selection Criteria

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the National Nurses and Midwives Registration Board
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns
  • Ability to proactively engage with patients / clients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries in complex situations
  • Strong computer skills including Internet and email; familiarity with health information systems
  • Knowledge of risk management, safety and quality principles and the RN role in applying them
  • Commitment to NSW Health Breastfeeding Policy and BFHI Principles
  • Minimum 1 year postgraduate experience in either women\'s health surgical, midwifery or neonatal / paediatric setting, aligned with RN or RM AHPRA registration
