The CIO Group provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and are seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to assist with the management and development of the Department’s Cloud security infrastructure.

Requirements

Cloud Security Engineers will be required to :

• Support security operations engineering projects within the Azure environment.
• Deploy cloud-based security services, process automations, reviews and general feature updates.
• Develop enterprise level detailed architecture documentation for Cloud based services.
• Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems.
• Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers.
• Provide impact analysis of user / stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards.
• Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects & testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
• Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation – testing, continuous integration and deployment.
• Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable to cloud platforms – re-use before buy / build, configure over customise, open data / access over siloed functionality.
• Promote and help ensure solutions align with the DTA’s Digital Service Standard.
• Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
• Cloud Security experience : Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ supporting security operations engineering projects within the Azure environment, including architecture documentation, deployment of services, process automation and reviews and general feature updates.
• Cloud experience : Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including : Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Manager.
• Cultural fit : Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams, including ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
• Agile : Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations.
• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud based technologies and architectures.
• Demonstrated experience in application and integration, or infrastructure platform architecture.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems.
