Overview

Urban Utilities delivers drinking water and wastewater services to Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim. The Senior Electrical Engineer will support our Infrastructure Planning & Delivery group within the Engineering and Professional Services (EPS) team, ensuring electrical, instrumentation, and control aspects of capital projects meet safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical assurance of all capital projects through electrical, instrumentation and control disciplines.
• Support specialised commissioning teams, applying hands‑on know‑how to ensure project deliverables meet design integrity and safety requirements.
• Perform technical assurance from concept, market engagement and detailed design right through to operational readiness and handover.
• Utilise the Technical Assurance Framework (TAF) and Safety in Design (SiD) procedures for risk‑based prioritisation.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with the principal electrical and controls engineers.
