About The Role

Urban Rest is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support financial operations across the group. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working alongside another Financial accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across various international locations. You'll be encouraged to challenge processes, optimize workflows, and embrace automation, working collaboratively across business functions. Key Responsibilities

Perform month-end closing activities and prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, variance analysis, etc.)Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain ledger accuracyEnsure VAT / GST complianceSupport payroll processing and financial complianceContribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysisCollaborate with and review AP / AR teams for assigned regionsAssist with year-end financial activities and auditsManage compliance tasks, including Company Tax, FBT, payroll tax, etcFinance business partnering with operations teams to support continued growth of the businessEngage with finance-related queries across departments, supporting internal stakeholdersWork on automation initiatives to optimize financial reporting processes

Must Have

A positive, detail-orientated team player with a strong analytical mindsetCA / CPA qualification or near completionExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHighly motivated and organised, with excellent time-management skills and attention to detail

Nice To Have

Prior experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm will be highly regarded, and we welcome candidates making their first move from professional practice into a commercial rolePrior experience with Xero accounting system will be well regarded but not essentialIntermediate to advanced excel skillsFamiliarity with financial reporting in industries such as property, hospitality or retail
