Overview

Core Talent is working with a leading engineering and project delivery business supporting the mining, resources and construction sectors. With a strong reputation for innovation and collaboration, this organisation delivers complex infrastructure and processing projects across Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Contracts Specialist to join a client-side project delivery team. The role focuses on post-award management of construction contracts for major mining projects, particularly across Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) packages. You’ll be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual functions of key projects, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage post-award construction contracts and commercial documentation
  • Oversee progress claims, variations, and payment approvals
  • Support the delivery and coordination of SMP project packages
  • Review contractor progress, manage claims, and assess EOT entitlements
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to site and head office teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders to drive successful outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract / commercial roles within mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of post-award contract administration and major construction packages
  • Experience dealing with tier-one contractors and large-scale project delivery
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and commercial acumen
  • Full working rights in Australia
