Professional Level 4 salary $65,168 to $69,279

Plus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave

About the Position

As a Technical Officer (Simulation) you will provide a comprehensive range of professional simulation and technical support within specialised teaching and learning facilities applying both expertise and judgement to support simulation and practical teaching activities primarily within the disciplines of Paramedicine, Nursing, Midwifery, and other related Health Group areas. This position will assist in the preparation and set-up of material and equipment for clinical practice classes and will contribute to the maintenance and operation of instrumentation, laboratories and supporting facilities. The successful candidate will be expected to provide technical expertise and support to staff and students. Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Officer (Simulation) you will work closely within a small dynamic team. This is a collaborative professional position where you will engage with academic colleagues and other professional staff.

About You

To be successful, you will require :

  • Completion of a diploma level or other relevant qualification with relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Awareness and knowledge of safe working practices, regulations and procedures, possession of Senior First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain, and capacity to implement Equal Opportunity and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies.
  • Ability to prepare and use equipment and associated software systems.
  • Awareness and knowledge of safe working practices and WHS regulations, especially relating to storage and disposal of biological materials and chemicals.
  • Demonstrated clinical simulation skills including maintenance of facilities, equipment and practice supplies, accurate record keeping, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and to adapt to a changing and flexible work environment, while maintaining initiative, self-motivation, and discipline.
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office applications, and an aptitude to use on-line procurement systems and databases.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 4 and the base salary will be in the range of $65,168 to $69,279 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $76,246 to $81,056 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
