Operations Safety Management Systems (SMS) Lead

Our Client, located in the Northern Suburbs is looking for an experienced Operations Safety Management Systems (SMS) Lead to join their expanding team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to the Operations Manager to develop, implement and maintain Safety Management Systems and enable compliance with relevant safety, quality and environment legislation, codes and standards for the plant operations within the framework of established SafeWork’s Safety Management System and the requirements of a Major Hazard Facility (MHF).

As well as site duties, the role requires that you always maintaining flexibility and focus on efficient operational performance and cross functional support.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to

• Drive compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures and directions in place from time to time and maintaining a safe work environment
• Provide technical resource and guidance to the operations in the development, implementation and maintenance of established Safety Management Systems (SMS) for the sites, including the requirements for the new Edinburgh project site (such as but not limited to safety case review and submission, compliance to regulations and obtaining/maintaining licenses to ensure smooth operations of the sites)
• Conduct toolbox meetings, trainings, awareness campaigns and programs to continuously improve the safety culture of TriCal Australia
• Create, maintain and update documentations, equipment maintenance and records related to processes within the framework of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and established systems of TriCal Australia as a Major Hazard Facility
