Job Description
We are currently seeking a Part Time Cook to join the professional and dynamic kitchen team. You will be working mainly the breakfast shift starting at 6am, preparing & serving food for the hotel buffet breakfast and assisting in food prep for Distrikt Press café and our all-day dining menu. There may be opportunities to cover other shifts for conferences or dinner as required, kitchen hand shifts on busy days and even pick up some F&B shifts if you are interested.
This is a great role for someone studying cookery and wanting some experience in a kitchen or for an experienced cook wanting some extra hours.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet showing variety and flair
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
- Responsible to wash all dishes and equiptment during and end of shift
- Ensure Food Safety protocols are followed
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Cook is required to wash all dishes during service
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the CDP & General Manager.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Cook or Breakfast Chef in a high-volume kitchen.Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Culinary degree or equivalent an advantage but not essential.Additional Information
