The Opportunity
Environmental Health Officers play a vital role in our community, protecting, promoting and improving public health across the Port Stephens LGA.
- This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
- Base Salary Range : $87,392 to $102,814 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance
- You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

Customer Service including elected Council, internal Council officers, rate payers, Environmental Health industry, consultants, residents and Government / Non-Government agencies.Environmental Health Programs including customer requests satisfactorily completed in accordance with the Councils Operational Plan and agreed work plans.Environmental Health advice including DA referrals to internal and external stakeholders, the community and Government agencies.Application Assessment covering key functional areas (OSMS, Food, Regulated Systems, Parks) under delegated authority and associated tasks.Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or other relevant qualifications and experienceDemonstrated knowledge of Environmental Health and Local Government legislation including the Food Act, Public Health Act, Local Government Act, Protection to the Environment Operations Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Contaminated Land Management Act and related subordinate legislationBenefits
