About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Supporter Experience and Digital Unit, this role will lead CCNSW’s website portfolio, delivering website experiences that provide the best experience for Cancer Council supporters and people affected by cancer. The role will lead a small, vibrant digital team, work towards an organisational customer‑centric vision and assist with design, development and backlog management.
Fixed‑term, 12‑month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a digital thought leader for the organisation, contributing to marketing and fundraising annual plans and overall marketing and fundraising strategy.
- Manage a small team, ensuring workloads are managed and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Work with other divisions to help refine their requirements to meet digital best practice before ensuring delivery.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, including design, development and platforms.
- Perform administration tasks to support team and unit functioning as required.
- Lead the development and operation of mission websites.
- Manage the Digital Backlog, act on quick change requests, deliver new landing pages, online forms or manage larger projects such as whole site or section redesigns.
- Uphold consistent graphical and writing styles in line with brand guidelines.
- Lead site maintenance and technical SEO efforts, to maintain a portfolio of high performing websites.
- Continue efforts to improve accessibility across our website ecosystem.
- Support Analytics and UX team members to synthesize their insights into actionable directions.
- Work with our IT team to ensure high standards of security and privacy are maintained across our websites.
- Maintain internal relationships, while representing the digital team and promoting good digital practice throughout the organisation.
About You
Experience leading a team, including managing direct reports.Ability to lead a digital strategy that supports broader organisational priorities.At least 3 years’ experience in website development and maintenance using WordPress or similar CMS.Proven skills in HTML and CSS.Ability to lead delivery of website products, conducting simple design and development or managing external developers and designers.Sound understanding of Google Analytics and how to use it to provide useful insights to stakeholders.Excellent ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to ensure projects are completed in line with expectations.Experience with a wide range of digital tools and an understanding of how these can work together.Proven ability to understand and accommodate competing priorities, technical limitations, resourcing constraints and tight deadlines.Willingness to learn new tools and assist others with digital requests.Ability to manage own workload, work autonomously and as part of a team.Strong sense of accountability and customer service.Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills – personable, collaborative, confident & flexible.Desirable
Experience working in the NFP industry.Understanding of JavaScript and PHP.Benefits
