The Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to join our team at Stanbroke's meat processing facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining our high standards of food safety, product quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of QA systems within the food industry, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Stanbroke’s Quality Policy and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee QA programs and provide direction to plant laboratory operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of manuals, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with QA staff, production teams, laboratory personnel, and management.
  • Liaise with government bodies (DAFF), Aus-Meat, and customers regarding quality matters.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits of quality systems.
  • Manage and review packing instructions and product specifications with Production.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints and system issues.
  • Report critical or unresolved quality issues to the QA 2IC.
  • Provide feedback on quality system performance and recommend improvements.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance systems and technical roles within the meat industry.
  • Strong knowledge of internal and external customer audit processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of Aus-Meat qualifications; AUS-MEAT Beef Specification Certification highly regarded.
  • Practical experience with food industry QA systems, including HACCP and associated programs.
  • Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach and strong learning agility.
  • Key contributor to fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ILeader or similar systems advantageous.
