Painter and Decorator – Hillside VIC

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are assisting our client, a well-regarded painting company as they recruit their next talented and experienced painter. Our client is based in Hillside, and the workload include all aspects of residential painting (new builds only) for both interior and exterior applications. They service across the north-western suburbs of Melbourne.

This professional painting and decorating firm are renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. They now seek another skilled and qualified full-time painter to join the team. The work is full time and ongoing with a great salary in the range of $70k to $80k plus superannuation per annum.

Duties will include :

• Painting to the highest standard of workmanship - surface prep, as well as mixing and matching.
• Working with a deep understanding of OHS practices and requirements, apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish and / or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures.
• Washing, scraping, sanding and / or smoothing interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing or applying other related materials.
• Thoroughly cleaning equipment, paint mixing area and work area.
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining all sorts of internal surfaces, walls to ceilings.
• Competently erect and use apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at all heights.
• Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
