About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity based at our Flinders Street offices in Adelaide for a Structural Trade Superintendent to join our AUKUS program .

As a Superintendent you will play a critical role in gaining comprehensive knowledge from our Structural Trade team in the UK. The incumbent will also be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all welding activities, quality, and schedule governance within the allocated scope of the project.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Supporting welder qualification and where appropriate authorising associated welding activities
  • Working with the Weld Engineering team to implement the welding certification framework
  • Assist with competency based training matrix for relevant trade group
  • In support of the Quality process and the completion of work ‘right first time' check the general readiness for jobs by; viewing weld preps to ensure jobs can be progressed, check the correct material has been used, check welds to ensure they are completed to appropriate standards
  • Input data as required into the relevant systems
  • Assist with trade handbooks, process and tools for relevant trade group.
  • About YOU

  • Qualified through International Institute of Welding as an International Welding Specialist (IWS) or hold welding supervisor's certification to either AS 1796 or AS 2214
  • Experience in the supervision of large complex engineering and / or construction products related to materials, fabrication, welding, and inspection and testing
  • Proven leadership of multi-functional teams providing de-confliction and delivery solutions in a complex operating environment preferably in structural steel or similar industries
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex program environment
  • High level MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Available to work in UK hours ideally up to 8 pm AEST time (flexible start times are offered)
  • Have a valid Australian passport with ability to travel overseas
  • A holder of an Australian Defence clearance
  • A background in shipbuilding or defence sector his highly desirable
  • Project Management qualification is desirable
