Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Site Manager

About the role
The Environment, Health and Safety Manager plays an integral role in designing, implementing and monitoring the site safety, compliance culture and strategy at our Box Hill manufacturing site. This role manages and leads all site responsibilities regarding health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and industry regulation.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and implement systems and procedures that eliminate and manage hazards and risks in the workplace, and which comply with legal, licensing and registration requirements.
- Ensure our leaders and employees understand their workplace obligations and regularly identify safety and security trainings to staff.
- Foster and maintain Health & Safety relationships and audit requirements both internally and externally.
- Ensure the site safety strategy is fully integrated with the site operations strategy and WHS Strategy.
- Train, coach and support the management team in conducting and updating risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis.
- Support site WorkCover and Return to Work processes including early intervention initiatives.
What will make you successful:
- Advanced/Diploma in OH&S
- Experience in an SHE role in a manufacturing or FMCG background
- Experienced working in a Union environment
- Proven experience with AS4801 requirements
- Sound understanding of WHS best practice and current legislation
- Experience in WorkCover processes
- Highly developed and effective influencing and communication skills
- Ability to engage line managers on WHS issues
- Collaboration focused as well as driving desired outcomes
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills, a decision maker based on facts
- Sound computer literacy – competent in Excel and Word
