An exciting opportunity exists for three high performing individuals to join The Wave (Rail), within Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the role of AO6 Senior Advisor (Commercial Contracts).

The Wave (Rail) project, previously known as the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project, is a generational infrastructure project that will revolutionise travel for the Sunshine Coast region, creating a seamless public transport network for the region. The Wave will deliver heavy passenger rail from Beerwah to Birtinya, and metro‑style vehicles will provide links between Birtinya, Mountain Creek, Maroochydore CBD and the Sunshine Coast Airport.

Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is a vital government agency moving and connecting people, places, goods and services safely, efficiently and effectively around Queensland.

Responsibilities

As Senior Advisor (Commercial Contracts) you will provide timely and relevant commercial advice, information and support to The Wave (Rail) project, ensuring the effective management of commercial activities and monthly reporting. You will collaborate with other commercial teams across TMR's Rail Division and external stakeholders to implement a high‑standard commercial strategy and management framework.

You will act as a subject‑matter expert, assist in the development and implementation of business processes, and prepare commercial documentation such as correspondence, notices, briefing notes, dashboards and reports.

You will analyse complex commercial matters, conduct detailed reviews of payment claims and invoices, and provide professional advice to address key commercial issues. You will monitor and report on contractual milestones and commercial performance, ensuring risks and issues are identified early and addressed to support accountability and continuous improvement.

You will engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, communicating complex commercial ideas with influence to achieve organisational and project objectives, while providing ongoing support to commercial directors and managers across all commercial activities.

You will model behaviours and attitudes aligned with TMR's values and contribute to a positive team culture, meeting team and personal accountability expectations, and modelling the standards of professional behaviour.
