Wingboy Darling Square is committed to maintaining high standards across its food and service while fostering a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace. As the business continues to grow, it is seeking a qualified and skilled Chef to join its kitchen team.
The Chef will play a vital role in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation and delivery of high-quality menu items. This role requires strong culinary skills, the ability to manage kitchen operations effectively, and a focus on consistency, food safety, and teamwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and smooth service periods
- Monitoring food quality, freshness, and portion control across all menu items
- Assisting with the supervision and coordination of kitchen staff, including task allocation and training
- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards are consistently met
- Coordinating daily preparation tasks, including mise en place, sauces, marinades, and other house-made components
- Managing stock levels, monitoring inventory, and placing orders with suppliers as required
- Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and correct use of kitchen equipment at all times
- Working closely with management on menu execution, specials, and service improvements
- Catering to customer dietary requirements and special requests when required
Skills & Experience Required
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualificationA minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environmentStrong understanding of food safety standards, kitchen operations, and quality controlAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality standardsStrong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
