Overview
Senior Engineering Manager / Chapter Lead, Software Engineering. We are embarking on an engineering transformation with a key focus on people and technical leadership, delivering complex designs and transformations across our CMS Platform, Experimentation Capabilities and Customer Data Platform. This role reports into the Crew Tech Lead for Customer Engagement & Comms, within the Group’s Retail Technology team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a talented team of engineers to shape the future of our CMS platform, Experimentation framework and Customer Data Platform.
- Own the solution design, drive performance, and lead the charge on innovative technologies that elevate our services and transform the customer experience.
- Provide technical leadership across development and operations, including coding, infrastructure management, system administration / engineering, and DevOps toolchains.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, foster a culture of innovation and excellence, and translate complex ideas into clear outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote engineering standards, global best practices, and a DevSecOps mindset with automation and security integrated into the lifecycle (e.g., CI / CD, IaC, monitoring, and observability).
Qualifications
Deep expertise in engineering and integration for Content Management Solutions (CMS) such as AEM, Optimizely, Sitecore, or Drupal (essential).Technical background in software engineering, ideally across .NET and / or Java, with experience leading teams in a dynamic enterprise environment.Experience building and inspiring high-performing engineering teams and mentoring to grow engineering practices.Strong communication skills to promote engineering standards and collaborate with stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to advocate for new technologies, drive operational excellence in complex, mission-critical environments, and lead technical conversations.Tech Skills
Leadership & Delivery : Proven experience leading high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams delivering scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.CMS Expertise : Deep understanding of CMS platforms and services, with a track record of full-cycle software engineering in enterprise content ecosystems (essential).Customer Data Platform : Real-time CDP experience (e.g., AEP or Salesforce) desirable.Backend Engineering : Strong background in .NET and / or Java, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design (essential).Cloud Native Development : Experience in AWS with cloud-native services (essential).DevSecOps Mindset : Ability to lead with security and automation throughout the development lifecycle (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, GitHub Actions).CI / CD & Automation : Proficient with CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, or Bitbucket Pipelines.Infrastructure as Code & Monitoring : IaC using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation; monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch.Additional Information
