About Us – Have a Heart for Change!

At the Heart Foundation, we believe everyone deserves a healthy heart. Heart disease is still the nation’s number one cause of death, and since 1959 we’ve led the fight through research, support, and prevention. Be part of our mission to make heart health achievable by everyone in Australia by 2050.

How You Can Make a Difference

Are you ready to put your heart into a role where research meets real-world impact? We’re looking for a Research and Evidence Lead to join our Clinical Evidence team and keep our work beating strong.

You will lead systematic reviews, evidence syntheses, and guideline development that puts research at the heart of better health outcomes. In this role, you’ll translate complex evidence into clear, practical resources, mentor colleagues, and engage stakeholders to ensure our outputs are rigorous, relevant, and impactful.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, blending your time between home and one of our capital-city offices (flexible location).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead systematic reviews and evidence syntheses that keep our guidelines at the heart of best practice.
  • Translate complex science into clear, accessible resources that never miss a beat with clinicians, policymakers, and the community.
  • Mentor and inspire colleagues—because strong hearts work better together.
  • Build meaningful connections with health professionals, consumers, and stakeholders.
  • Keep projects and resources pumping smoothly from start to finish.
  • What You'll Bring

  • A degree in a health-related field (postgrad highly regarded).
  • 5+ years’ experience in evidence synthesis or systematic review methodology.
  • Proven project management skills—you can juggle multiple priorities without skipping a beat.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience with a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, with outputs that truly make an impact.
  • Why Join Us?

At our heart, we are driven by purpose. Every day, we make a meaningful impact through our work, and we are committed to supporting our employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance.

We are dedicated to fostering a diverse, safe, and inclusive workplace. We actively seek to represent the communities we serve and recognise the invaluable skills, knowledge, and perspectives a diverse team brings. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and individuals from all backgrounds.

    What We Offer

  • Salary packaging to help you make the most of your earnings.
  • Flexible work-from-home options – up to 50% of your week.
  • A supportive and inclusive workplace culture where your contributions are valued.
  • Additional gifted leave during the Christmas shutdown period.
  • Wellbeing programs and initiatives to support your personal and professional growth.
  • Ready to Apply?
