About the role

As a Textile Lab Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our customer promise — ensuring every product meets the highest standards of performance, durability, and compliance. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with a keen eye for detail and a drive to deliver a point of difference in our customer experience.

Specifically you will :

Conduct a wide range of textile performance and quality tests (e.g., colour fastness, tensile strength, dimensional stability to washing, colour, water repellency, fabric construction, etc.).
Analyse and document lab results for internal reports and customer support.
Collaborate with Product Development to ensure materials and products are fit for purpose, meet relevant standards and align with circular design principles.
Provide technical input to support customer education on textile care.
Maintain lab equipment, calibrations, and testing protocols across a full scope of equipment (spectrophotometer, tensile tester, crockmeter etc).

You will have a genuine passion for textiles. You approach your work with constant curiosity, always asking how things can be improved, refined, or made more responsible. You're hungry to learn, whether it’s mastering new testing techniques, exploring circular materials, or understanding the nuances of fabric performance.

We are looking for the following skills and experience :

Tertiary qualification in Textile Technology, Science, or a related field would be preferable.

Experience in a textile testing lab environment (commercial or manufacturing).

Good understanding of textile testing methods (e.g., ISO, AS / NZS standards).

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.

Confidence in communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
