Join a team working at the forefront of complex aviation and safety-critical operations. QinetiQ Air Affairs is seeking a skilled Quality and Safety Assurance Officer to support and enhance the safety, compliance, and operational performance of our aviation and support systems.
What you’ll do
Plan, lead, conduct and report on internal and external audits
Support external audits (ISO 9001, AS9110, ISO 45001) and maintain accreditation readiness
Conduct investigations into incidents, hazards and near misses
Assess compliance across regulatory frameworks including CASA, DASA Part 145 / 147, and ISO
Liaise with teams to progress actions from Safety, Risk, and Management Reviews
Contribute to continuous improvement and safety-first culture
Maintain robust and accurate quality and safety records
Collaborate across all levels of the business – from apprentices to engineers, pilots, and executives
What you’ll bring
Lead Auditor qualification
Background in aviation or another safety-critical industry
Hands-on auditing and quality assurance experience
Strong understanding of safety and compliance frameworks
Confidence communicating across all levels with professionalism and emotional intelligence
A practical, solutions-focused mindset with high attention to detail
Ability to interpret regulation and assess alignment with internal policy and process
