Join our friendly and professional team at Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) as a casual Educator! We are seeking individuals with diverse life experiences in sports, art, music, drama, craft, coaching, or teaching to enrich the children's learning experiences.

    We have multiple casual positions available, offering up to 75 hours per fortnight in our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program. You'll have various opportunities to engage with children, including before and after school care, holiday (vacation care), and abundant room for career advancement within CRCS.

    • As a valued member of our OSHC team, you'll find each day to be fun-filled, dynamic, and occasionally challenging. Your role as an Educator at CRCS will involve providing high-quality practices to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children. You'll interact with and supervise children effectively while collaborating with the team to deliver exceptional education and care, prioritizing each child's unique strengths, needs, and interests, and fostering a culture of safety.

      A typical day will have you working closely with the team to establish a nurturing and stimulating environment for attending children. This includes organizing various activities and programs, setting up indoor and outdoor equipment, handling cleaning and food preparation, and providing attentive supervision to ensure the children's well-being.

    • To be successful in this role you will need to have
    • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental needs of children.

      Ability to build strong and sustained relationships with children, demonstrating a clear understanding of the child as a learner.

      Familiarity with the Education and Care Services National Law, Regulations, Framework, and Standards.

      Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework or My Time Our Place Framework.

      Awareness of work health and safety responsibilities under both the Work Health and Safety Law and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

      A minimum Cert III qualification in an approved (ACECQA) field.

      Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid Certificates.

    • Desirable Experience
    • Studying towards a Diploma in Children Services or a primary / early childhood education qualification.

      Food Safety, Handling, and Hygiene training.

    • Skills and Experiences
    • CRCS also requires all employees to
    • Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and / or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
    • Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position.
    • Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
