About the Opportunity

The medical imaging department provides high‑quality care to a diverse patient population across hospital, subacute, and outpatient settings. As part of a large regional health service, the Medical Imaging Department operates as a 24‑hour, 7‑day‑a‑week service.

Our Nursing team provides vital pre, peri and post examination care for patients undergoing General X‑ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopy. You will be a key team member of this specialised environment and, as a Medical Imaging Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of nursing care for both inpatients and outpatients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures.

What You’ll be Doing

Deliver and evaluate clinical education programmes in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.   • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a post‑graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or an education post‑graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Demonstrated understanding of competency‑based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programmes based on adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients / consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidence‑based nursing care.
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
