Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join their growing and successful business. This is a senior role in the business overseeing the design on some highly technical and interesting projects in Sydney.

Ideal sector experience : Health, Commercial and Data Centres. Must have Sydney Tier 1 or 2 commercial construction experience for a number of years.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the projects will run timely and cost-effective
• Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
• Advise on project design schedules and budgets
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
• Advise on buildability and methodology
• Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
• Identify and resolve design-related issues and elevate issues to senior management as needed
• Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities
• Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval

Strong leadership and communication skills
