About the Role

A contract opportunity is available for a Software Architect to join a close-knit architecture team supporting a large-scale, enterprise-grade system.

You’ll play a key role in translating high-level solution designs into detailed technical designs for development teams, ensuring software quality, safety, and adherence to architectural standards. The work involves minimal coding but requires strong oversight of code reviews, ensuring what’s built aligns with the intended design.

You’ll collaborate closely with Solution Architects, developers, verification teams, and other Software Architects to produce detailed design work packages and guide the delivery of high-quality software across multiple streams. This environment suits someone moving from a Senior Developer background into an Architecture role, who is procedural, process-driven, and values collaboration and technical excellence.

The role sits within a stable, well-supported team of around 12 architects working across core projects in production and scaling across multiple sites. The team operates three days per week in the office, fostering close collaboration while maintaining flexibility.

You Should Have

  • 1+ years of experience as a Software Architect
  • Strong background in software development (C# and .NET experience highly regarded)
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of architectural processes and software design principles
  • Process-driven mindset and attention to detail
  • Perth-based and available to start soon

Nice to Have

  • Experience in large enterprise, mining, or industrial systems
  • Exposure to safety, functional safety, QA, or testing environments
