Account Manager – General Insurance | Canberra

Are you an experienced insurance professional ready to take the next step in your career? Join a leading national brokerage with strong local roots and a reputation for putting clients first. We are currently seeking an Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients from their  Canberra office .

About the Role :

As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of an existing portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across a broad range of industries. You will be responsible for end-to-end account management, including :

  • Managing renewals, policy reviews, and endorsements
  • Providing timely, tailored risk advice to clients
  • Quoting, negotiating, and placing cover with insurers
  • Proactively managing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities
  • Collaborating with internal support staff and claims teams to deliver outstanding service

What We’re Looking For :

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in general insurance broking
  • Strong understanding of SME or mid-market commercial products (Business Pack, Liability, Property, Commercial Motor, etc.)
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or working towards)
  • Excellent communication, client service, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience with broking systems such as WinBEAT, Insight, or CBS is a plus
