About the role

The Digital Workspaces Team Lead is a critical leadership and technical role within the Integration Unit of the Information Services Branch (ISB), reporting to the Director of Integration.

This Position Demands Exceptional Capability To Lead, Deliver, And Innovate In a High-pressure Environment Where Priorities Shift Rapidly, Visibility Is High, And Expectations Are Uncompromising. You Will

  • Be responsible for the department’s SharePoint Online tenancy, Power Platform solutions, and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) application.
  • Combine strategic leadership with hands‑on technical development, ensuring platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Lead and mentor a small, high‑performing team.
  • Manage resource allocation to deliver complex projects and maintain business‑as‑usual operations.
  • Oversee the administration, governance, and development of SharePoint Online, govern the Power Platform, and manage Microsoft Identity Manager.
  • Be working closely with the Information Management team, you will implement our approved information architecture and ensure compliance with security, governance, and other relevant standards.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across ISB and the wider department, you will communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively, influencing decisions and driving adoption of digital collaboration technologies.

Success means delivering projects on time and within scope, maintaining high stakeholder confidence in digital platforms, and driving continuous improvement and innovation through business‑as‑usual activities. You will lead a resilient team that thrives under pressure and consistently achieves exceptional outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

  • Proven experience in designing, administering, and managing a SharePoint Online environment, with the ability to transition seamlessly between technical and management tasks.
  • Strong practical experience in PowerShell scripting, including the use of the PnP module for automation and advanced configuration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in establishing and implementing governance frameworks for Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Relevant MIM experience will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a team and prioritise a support ticket queue, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • In‑depth knowledge of SharePoint Online functionality, enabling effective diagnosis and resolution of user issues, alongside proactive measures to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Ability to convey technical information in user‑friendly language, provide concise updates, and develop training packages tailored to end‑user needs.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with senior executives, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions will be highly regarded.
