If you're ready to step into a role where faith meets action—and where your leadership can help end poverty in Jesus' name—then you’re in the right place!
Baptist World Aid Australia is one of Australia’s most trusted Christian international development organisations, partnering with communities in over 20 countries to help end poverty. Through local partnerships and bold advocacy, we help Australians live out their faith by taking action against injustice. Last year, more than 900,000 people directly benefited from our work.
When you join Baptist World Aid, you join a 60+ year legacy of faith in action. As part of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in building partnerships that equip churches, schools, and individuals to pray, act, and give towards a world where poverty has ended, and all people enjoy the fullness of life God intends.
Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, relational leader who can cultivate meaningful partnerships with Baptist churches, schools, and individual supporters across Victoria and Tasmania.
Through both your team leadership and personal portfolio management, churches, schools and major donors will deepen their relationships with Baptist World Aid, leading to a deeper understanding of God’s work amongst people living in poverty, and increased prayer, advocacy action, and giving. As a result, more individuals, churches, and schools will donate to Baptist World Aid.
This role is ideal for someone with both ministry and fundraising experience, a love for the local church, and a commitment to ensuring we faithfully support people experiencing poverty. You’ll work closely with the Baptist Union of Victoria and, serve as an ambassador for Baptist World Aid, and support cross-team collaboration in church engagement, philanthropy, and schools.
You live in Melbourne (greater Melbourne) to allow you to spend your time around the areas of greatest density of Baptist churches and major donors. You will be set up to work remotely from home and be able to attend the BUV office approximately 1 day per week and work on Sundays as you attend key churches, events and other church related gatherings to share our message.
Desired Skills and Experience
Who Are You?
You’re already a leader in the church—maybe a pastor, preacher, or ministry director. You feel called to extend your impact beyond one congregation and inspire faith communities across VIC / TAS to join God’s restorative work around the world.
You’re a strong communicator and a strategic relationship-builder. You have experience leading teams, and creating partnerships with individuals, businesses or organisations towards clear KPIs. You’re highly organised, outcomes-focused, and aligned to the heart and ethos of the Baptist movement in Australia.
