Medical Scientific Liaison - Immunology
Summary
Novartis is seeking a Senior / Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to join our expanding Immunology team. In this newly created, customer-facing, field-based role, you will contribute to the advancement of early assets within our Immunology TA pipeline. You will be responsible for developing and managing professional relationships with healthcare professionals, clinical investigators, and healthcare decision-makers. Your work will provide critical medical and scientific support across the Immunology therapy area, helping to shape clinical development and drive scientific engagement.
Major Accountabilities (including but not limited to)
- Establish and maintain long-standing professional relationships with medical experts and key stakeholders to facilitate scientific dialogue and ensure access to current and emerging information on the Novartis portfolio.
- Educate medical experts, speakers, and investigators on novel and emerging data, including information on patient-critical issues that support the quality use of medicines.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to align and optimise development activities.
- Provide up-to-date scientific information and product data to medical experts and healthcare professionals.
- Support investigational sites and collaborate cross-functionally with TMO and Medical Advisors to recommend investigators for Phase I–IV clinical programs.
- Assist Medical Leads in the setup, implementation, and execution of Novartis-sponsored educational activities and local clinical studies.
- Prepare deliverables for scientific and medical meetings; attend and support these meetings, report customer feedback and insights, and assess the impact of competitive intelligence for internal and external sharing.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams through therapy area and product training, and coordinate customer engagement collaboratively.
Minimum Requirements
A relevant qualification such as a PhD, PharmD, MPhil, or postgraduate degree in Immunology / Rheumatology / Dermatology is advantageous but not mandatory.Strong knowledge of disease management and medical research, preferably in Immunology / Rheumatology, with a working understanding of the Australian healthcare system.Proven experience in establishing and nurturing credible relationships with medical experts and decision-makers.Ability to quickly synthesise recent scientific information and analyse it within strategic and regulatory contexts, demonstrating strong personal integrity and customer focus.Excellent interpersonal communication and advanced presentation skills, with a collaborative approach to both internal operations and external engagement.Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, field-based environment.A highly innovative and learning mindset, with a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.Benefits and Rewards
