Community Occupational Therapist - Level 3

Location : Cessnock / Kurri Kurri Hospital (site may be based at either location or a combination of both).

Employment Type : Temporary Part Time until January 2026

Position Classification : Occupational Therapist - Level 4

Remuneration : $56.68 - $58.52 per hour + superannuation

Hours Per Week : 24

What You’ll Be Doing

Complete home visits to clients across the Cessnock and Kurri local government areas, providing client‑centred care through functional assessments, equipment prescription, and referrals for home modifications. The role requires strong community OT experience and a solid understanding of external stakeholders including My Aged Care, EnableNSW, GEAT2GO, and home modification providers.

You will be supported on-site by the Site Senior Occupational Therapist and remain connected to the wider OT team, which includes inpatient, paediatric, and adult outpatient therapists. Although this is a sole community OT position, you’ll have access to orientation based on your needs and ongoing education and professional development with internal and external CPD opportunities.

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate high‑level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to adapt their communication style to diverse audiences. They will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, particularly in managing complex and challenging situations. Experience in leading the planning and evaluation of team activities is essential, along with the capability to provide supervision, support, and guidance to students and less experienced staff members.
